EMPLOYMENT TERMS AND CONDITIONS

This document outlines the behavioural and professional standards Stunt Gym expects to be shown and maintained by all employees. The gym floor is a dynamic environment primarily occupied by minors. As such every employee is required to maintain these standards in all foreseeable environments in which they will be student-facing, be it physically or virtually.

Behaviour

Stunt Gym instructors are not only responsible for guiding the progression of students’ skill, but also their behavioural development. All instructors are both role models and mentors to students. For these reasons it is crucial that they behave responsibly and empathetically at all times. It is the duty of an instructor to demonstrate the values we expect our students to uphold; safety, respect, and humility. Through upholding these values as role models and mentors we ensure that as our students grow, they aspire to positive attributes. Safety is Stunt Gym’s top priority, both physical and psychological. It is the responsibility of instructors to ensure a safe environment at all times. All manageable physical hazards (i.e. lack of required mats, possible obstructions, etc.) and psychological/emotional hazards (i.e. bullying, victimizing, etc.) are to be dealt with immediately and without complacency. Instructors are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the best interests of Stunt Gym and the safety of the students at all times.

Social Media

As a Stunt Gym employee, the responsibility to maintain professional conduct encompasses social media presence. Students are likely to want to engage with instructors on social media, or at the very least view their posts and/or accounts. As such, Stunt Gym employees are required to maintain a standard of professionalism on any public social media accounts. This extends itself to but is not limited to posts involving consumption or promotion of alcohol, lewd behaviour, offensive language or remarks, and irresponsible, illicit or dangerous behaviour. Employees are welcome to manage private accounts which are separate from any account related to Stunt Gym. However, if private accounts are created with unprofessional or illicit material, access to it from any student of the gym is unacceptable.

Appearance

All Stunt Gym employees are required to maintain professional appearance in any student-facing role. Correct uniform consists of any Stunt Gym branded top, black or grey pants or shorts and appropriate footwear. Any accessories that may get in the way of performing techniques (i.e. rings, watches, etc.) should be avoided whilst teaching. Stunt Gym employees must always set a standard for students to follow.

Performance

Stunt Gym instructors are selected on a number of factors, one of which is physical ability. It is important the development of this physical ability does not stop. Instructors should constantly be striving to improve in order to impart the best possible direction to students. Before stepping into a class all instructors should be sure of their ability to perform the required techniques, and their ability to communicate instruction on the required techniques. It is the duty of every Stunt Gym instructor to strive for and maintain a standard of excellence worthy of the standing Stunt Gym has built.
